65 kilometres and +5000 metres of elevation gain are not for everyone.
Club Deportivo Ultra Trail Sierra Blanca (CDUTSB) in collaboration with the Marbella Town Council, are organising the mountain race "Marbella Epic Trail" (MET).
The event will take place on 21 February 2026 and will be governed by the rules established in its regulations.

MET will take place on 21 February 2026. The race will start at 5:00 a.m. on Marbella's Paseo Marítimo, and the finish line will be at the Nagüeles Fort car park.
The race covers a single distance of 65 km with an approximate positive elevation gain of +5000 metres.
In the event of bad weather, the organisers may activate an alternative route or modify the schedule. Participants will be notified in advance of any changes.
Yes, it is recommended to have prior experience in mountain races, particularly in long distances with challenging elevation gains. It is suggested to have completed a race with a minimum positive elevation gain of 4,500 metres.
Registrations are available on the official race website until 31 January 2026 or until all 200 race bibs are sold out. If places fill up before that date, a waiting list will be established.
The registration includes a race bib, civil liability and accident insurance, aid stations, a bag check service, a medal and finisher’s gift for those who complete the race, showers, and transportation back in case of withdrawal, among other benefits.
Yes, after the race, there will be a post-race meal with a variety of options, including a barbecue, vegetarian choices, drinks, and sweets for all participants.
Participants are required to wear knee-length shorts or tights, a windproof jacket with a hood, a thermal blanket, a hydration system with a capacity of at least 1.5 litres, a headlamp with spare batteries, a whistle, gloves, and a fully charged mobile phone, among other items.
Race bibs will be available for collection on Friday, 20 February 2026, from 12:00 to 20:00 at Plaza del Mar, Marbella. It is mandatory to present the registration QR code or a valid ID.
Yes, the use of poles is allowed, but runners must manage them responsibly to avoid damaging the environment or causing harm to other participants.
Medical assistance will be available at various points along the route, including rescue vehicles and support drones. Runners who need to withdraw will be transported to the finish line from extraction points.
Yes, the time limit to complete the race is 19 hours. Runners must pass through the checkpoints within the set time frames to continue in the race.
If you miss the cut-off time at any checkpoint, you will be disqualified from the race.
Under no circumstances is it recommended to continue on your own, as it is likely that aid stations, volunteers, and signage will no longer be available. Additionally, after the sweep teams pass, all markers will be removed, and your location will no longer be tracked by chip.
No, external assistance or aid outside the designated points set by the organisers is prohibited. Violation of this rule may result in penalties or disqualification.
